The outside is raw: climbing plants swarm up the washed concrete surfaces, as if protecting the house. Inside, the use of natural materials contributes towards a warm atmosphere, enhanced by the sunlight that filters in from the courtyards and the ceiling, as well as the characteristic square windows.
In the village of San Nazzaro, on the eastern shore of Lake Maggiore, lies a family house whose radical architecture is evocative of ancient rock. Rooted in the geology of the place and at the same time looking to the future, Casa Romeo is a celebration of contrasting forces.
