A contemporary domus in the heart of Rome

Right behind the ancient Jewish quarter, this apartment is a tribute to the history of the Italian capital. Archetypical shapes, monumental volumes and ancient materials create a sophisticated dialogue between the architectural history of the city and the joys of contemporary living.

Created by the Italian artist and craftsman Henry Timi, the interior design of the apartment is founded on a few essential concepts. The study of natural lighting. The use of travertine, a stone that is ubiquitous in Roman buildings. The presence of symbolic features, such as the small sink in the hall, recalling a baptismal font.

The kitchen features an island in travertine stone. One of the modules conceals the AdoraDish V6000, one of V-ZUG’s best-in-class dishwashers. The ideal helper for organising family life around the table or throwing intimate dinner parties for friends, the AdoraDish V6000 contributes to a quiet, understated atmosphere. The extra-quiet Silent program is perfect for open-plan kitchen spaces like the one in this apartment.

“Geometric volumes are embedded in the residential features, recalling the archaeology of travertine. An infinite inlay of nature and art, in the centre of Rome”. Henry Timi, artist and craftsman
