A chef’s home kitchen in Milan

A recently refurbished Milan apartment from the Seventies is the home of a famous chef. She lives here with her husband and two children, in a warm and welcoming space designed to enjoy the beauty of everyday life.

The bespoke kitchen island in stainless steel has a dual purpose. Offering a warm and silky touch and appearance together with the highest performance levels, it can be interpreted as a table for informal family gatherings or enjoyed as a generous work surface, on which to try new recipes. Leaning against a side wall, a large, tall unit hosts the V-ZUG CombairSteamer V6000 60, a full-fledged oven complemented by gentle steaming techniques and automatic programs – an ideal solution for small spaces. The stainless steel wall unit is a hybrid solution that mixes function and aesthetics, concealing high-tech appliances inside a cabinet reminiscent of a vintage cupboard. Its design goes very well with the nearby wooden bar cabinet, a modern piece dating back to the 50s.
