Stripping away the extraneous, Neuendorf House by John Pawson and Claudio Silvestrin, is an exercise in minimalism. Set within the pink-hued landscape of Mallorca, Spain, the home was originally designed in 1991 and remains a contemporary architectural home. “The scale and purity of the geometry endures,” Pawson says.
Now operating as a holiday home, the pared-back nature and logical planning of Neuendorf House allows life to unfold with ease and grace. According to Pawson, “the design is essentially a cube within a cube, which creates voids and volumes. The composition is planned on a grid of nine squares, contained within massive walls.”
