An elegant, elongated barn in the canton of Graubünden

Haus Furggaleidis by Sandro Durrer stands at the edge of Buchen in Prättigau, Switzerland, blending into its rural setting with a restrained, barn-like form. The gable-roofed home is clad in pre-greyed spruce, which echoes traditional alpine stables. Floor-to-ceiling openings filter light and views, while the top-floor living space frames sweeping panoramas of the valley below.

The kitchen is a seamless extension of the timber architecture, sculpted from three-layer spruce and larch panels that wrap the floor, walls and furniture. Massive porcelain stoneware worktops contrast the warm wood. The design subtly dissolves boundaries, letting the landscape remain the focal point. Functional yet unobtrusive, it embodies refined craftsmanship.

“What looks simple must be well thought out.” Sandro Durrer, architect

With a distinctly Swiss-style minimalism, the integration of V-ZUG appliances complements the gridded precision of the kitchen's interior. Streamlined in form, a Combair and CombairSteamer V6000 and WarmingDrawer V4000 all bring state-of-the-art technology, but also beauty.
