V‑ZUG know-how: FAQ

Yes, you need a V-ZUG-Home login, or you can use your social login (Google or Apple) to use the app.

The app runs on Android devices from version 13.0 and iOS devices (Apple) from version 17.0.

Access the user settings of the household appliance and select the V-ZUG-Home function. Depending on the appliance, the V-ZUG-Home modus can be found in the settings or consult the V-ZUG-Home manual for appliance specific variations.

You will find the V-ZUG-Home configuration in the user settings of each V-ZUG appliance. From there, you can set the V-ZUG-Home mode, read information and restore the factory settings for V-ZUG-Home.

The following functions can be controlled remotely via the V-ZUG app:

• Stop the current program

• Send recipes and programs to your oven or steamer

• Adjust certain user settings on your household appliance

• Download the app from the Apple App Store (Link) for iOS or Google Play Store (Link) for Android devices and install it on your smartphone or tablet

• Follow the instruction of the onboarding in the app

• Create or login with your V-ZUG-Home account or use your social logins

Yes, an internet connection is required for full utilisation of V-ZUG-Home and the V-ZUG app.

To display your V-ZUG appliance, activate V-ZUG-Home in the user settings of your household appliance. Next, download the V-ZUG app on your smartphone or tablet, register or login with your V-ZUG-Home account or social login and connect your appliance in the app.

Please ensure the following conditions are met:

• Ensure the router is switched on and that the smartphone/tablet can access the home network. Check if the WLAN symbol is visible on the smartphone/tablet.

• Is V-ZUG-Home activated on the household appliance?

• Has the V-ZUG app been downloaded?

• Can the app detect the household appliance?

• Is the smartphone/tablet connected to the WLAN (home network)?

• Is Bluetooth activated on the smartphone/tablet?

• Is 'Location' enabled?

• Has the PIN been entered correctly (6 digits)?

• Is the correct WLAN displayed? If not, the device may have poor WiFi reception.

• Has the WLAN password been entered correctly?

The 2.4 GHz WLAN penetrates walls and floors better than the 5 GHz WLAN can. V-ZUG therefore uses 2.4 GHz WLAN to ensure an optimum connection to your appliances.

There may be various reasons for this:

• For security reasons, specific functionality may only be used on the appliance.

• The functionality has not yet been implemented and will be added in a future version.

• For other technical reasons that make it more user friendly to keep the functionality on the appliance.

Many appliances built from 2015 onwards can be connected to the V-ZUG app. However, you can enter your serial number and add your appliance offline in order to register your warranty or view the manual.

V-ZUG-Home mode is deactivated.

Remote access has been extensively tested and works for all devices that are equipped with it. If problems occur, check whether it is possible to update the appliances software. Local conditions can also make the connection more difficult, such as the location of the appliance.

The language settings depend on the setting on your smartphone or tablet. Selecting the region during onboarding has no influence on the language.

To change the language in the app, please set the desired language in your mobile phone or tablet settings.

Favourites are currently not synchronised between the app and the appliance. We are working on new functionalities that will enable this in the future.

This means that

• favourites on the appliance are not visible in the app.

• favourites from the app are not visible on the appliance.

A steamer allows for gentle steam cooking that does not wash out valuable vitamins, minerals and flavours from your food. The unpressurised steaming process operates at temperatures between 30 and 100 °C to enable simple, precision cooking. A smart climate sensor allows the food to be steamed in the best possible conditions, regardless of the amount. The colours are preserved perfectly. Ideal for a healthy and balanced diet.

An extra-high model offers space for plates with a diameter of 33cm. This means that an extra-high dishwasher makes sense if you want to use it for large plates, tall wine glasses or baking trays.

Thanks to unique sensor technology in the climate control system (CCS) with active ventilation flap, your cooking chamber will reach the ideal conditions for your dish. Your steamer or oven will automatically detect the weight and size of the dish and will select the best sequence of the various operating modes with exactly the right temperature and duration. What’s more, you can find out exactly when the dish will be ready just moments after you begin.

The energy saver programme reduces the washing temperature by 5°C, which results in an energy saving of 10%.

Yes, the cutlery drawer is designed so that the right-hand external wing can be retracted sideways, meaning that long-stemmed glasses can still be placed in the upper basket below.

There are a number of reasons for unsatisfactory cleaning results. The most common are listed below: - Too many dishes are packed too closely together in the dishwasher, preventing the water jets from the spray nozzles from reaching every part of the dishes and resulting in spray shadows. Spray shadows are surfaces on dishes that have been missed by the water jet and are therefore not cleaned. - The dishwasher's spray arms are blocked, meaning that the water spray pressure is too low for proper cleaning. In this case, you can simply remove the spray arms (see the operating instructions) and clean the nozzles under the tap. - Select the RinsePlus user setting on the dishwasher. RinsePlus increases the amount of water and extends the programme duration.

The additional hygiene programme eliminates germs using an elevated temperature (above 60 °C) over a longer exposure time. Independent laboratory trials have confirmed a reduction in germs of up to 99.99 %.

A heating element behind the hot air diffuser plate heats up the air inside the cooking chamber, which is circulated evenly. Steam is then introduced into the cooking chamber. The use of steam can improve heat transfer to the food. Incidentally, steam over 100 °C is not visible. The programme is particularly suitable for gratins, casseroles, meat, frozen products, chestnuts, puff and yeast pastry, bread and convenience products on 1 or 2 levels.

If you often clean ladles, wooden spoons, whisks or long meat knives in the dishwasher, we recommend using our Vario cutlery basket insert. The Vario cutlery basket insert is already included as standard in our SL models, but can also be bought as an optional accessory for our models in the N and S lines. The Vario cutlery basket insert can also be retrofitted to older appliances.

The new Excellence Line steamers and combi-steam cookers can be cleaned with little effort thanks to the stainless-steel cooking chamber. Guided programmes remove the dirt automatically. For tough soiling, we have developed a special cleaning solution – the SteamerCleaner.

The delayed start function makes it easy to take advantage of low night electricity rates. What's more, the appliance remembers the time it was set to on the previous occasion, and with a mere 42dB(A), our dishwashers know how to keep their noise down. You won't hear a thing.

The «Upper rack» only function makes a ZUG dishwasher even more flexible and will save 2.6 litres of water, depending on the wash programme.

Stainless steel is the only material that can be used for household appliances as it doesn’t rust when it comes into contact with water. All V-ZUG steamers are made with this material.

Do not use metal accessories such as cooking trays, baking trays or cutlery. These could create sparks. Check before use whether the accessories are microwaveable. Use the perforated plastic cooking tray for PowerSteam.

Foods with skins or shells, such as potatoes, tomatoes, sausages, and shellfish, should be pricked with a fork before cooking. Eggs should be beaten or scrambled, and for fried eggs, the yolk should be pricked to prevent bursting.

We recommend the following: Not all dishes are suitable for cleaning in a dishwasher. - Wash items made of wood or plastic that are sensitive to alkalis or heat by hand. - Earthenware tends to crack and splinter. - Glass and porcelain prints are only resistant to a limited extent and may dissolve over time. - Glass can become cloudy depending on the type and the detergent used. Check with your glass supplier whether the glass is dishwasher-safe. - Tension may develop in polished and thick-walled crystal glasses and bowls, which may lead to breakages. - Do not wash dishes with stickers. Dissolved stickers can block the filter system. - Objects made of silver, copper and tin tend to stain brown or black. - Aluminium tends to form stains. Wash aluminium separately or by hand.

No. Both detergent dispensers are supplied with the washing machine and can be immediately filled with the desired liquid agents or softeners.

Indeed, thorough spinning reduces the time and energy required to dry your laundry. Creases caused during spinning will be largely flattened out in the tumble dryer.

The DualDry was implemented in the Adora, as the air throughput was too low for a laundry room in an apartment building. Furthermore, the operating modes cannot run at the same time. If laundry is hanging up in the room and another tenant decides to use the tumble dryer, then this eliminates the possibility of room air laundry drying as the humidity within the room is no longer regulated.

This restriction prevents the appliance from being used as a construction dryer. This is not what it is designed for. The running time has an influence on the components and can also be considered a safety issue. A period of 7 days has been defined as once a week is generally considered sufficient for washing and drying.

All our latest washing machines (Adora) and tumble dryers (Adora) are available with the door hinges on the right-hand or left-hand side. This means you can choose the most suitable version for your circumstances.

Make sure the cooking zones are generously spaced so the pans don't touch. We'd recommend a hob with cooking zones in a V- or A-shaped alignment. You might also consider a panorama hob, where the cooking zones are positioned in a single line for easy access.

No. Wherever a trial or subscription continues free of charge as part of this transition, the V-Upgrade remains available without further steps.

Apple subscriptions are cancelled automatically at the end of the current billing period, after which the V‑Upgrade is permanently activated on the appliance at no additional cost.

Action is only required if you do not wish to keep the V-Upgrade, or if it is not displaying correctly on the appliance or in your account.

The nozzle produces hot water for tea and other hot drinks. It also lets you conveniently froth cold milk for a delicious cappuccino or hot chocolate.

The two cooling zones are vertically adjustable and can be set to two different precise temperatures suitable for white and red wine, respectively. Available temperatures range from 5 to 18°C.

Some of our refrigerators feature three different temperature zones. In addition to the freezer compartment and the main refrigerator compartment, the Magnum 2 60i and Cooltronic 60i eco refrigerators, for example, also offer a cold storage compartment with infinitely variable humidity control (0-degree zone), in which food stays fresh up to three times longer. The cooking space is heated by heating elements at the top and bottom. This feature is suitable for cakes, biscuits, bread and roasted meat. For a crispy result, we recommend using the dark enamel tray.
