Changes for refrigerators and freezers

Environmentally-friendly cooling

Environmentally-friendly cooling With the introduction of the new energy consumption labelling in 2021, our most energy-efficient single-door refrigerators and some of our two-door appliances have achieved energy efficiency class C.

The procedure for determining the energy rating for refrigerators and freezers is now more extensive. The type of appliance, its functional principle, the room temperature and the number and size of the storage compartments are now all taken into account. The other elements of the new energy label remain largely unchanged.

The energy consumption is also stated in kWh as the annual consumption. The label also provides information on the total volume of all refrigeration and cold storage compartments and, where applicable, all freezer compartments, as well as the airborne sound emissions and the airborne sound emission class.

From 1 March 2024, the new minimum requirement for refrigerators and freezers will be efficiency class E.

1. QR code (if model is also sold in the EU) for further details about the appliance 2. Energy efficiency rating 3. annual energy consumption in kWh/year (measured under new standard conditions) 4. the sum of the volumes of the freezer compartments  5. the sum of the volumes of the cold storage compartments and the refrigerated compartments 6. Noise emissions, expressed in dB(A) re 1 pW, and noise emission rating
